Your show is great please release more

It would be great if you could do a podcast on room by room heat load , design , the best way and software to offer 3-4 different investment solutions then close at the house

I was really excited about this podcast when I heard about it. We struggle everyday with smart multi, city multi etc. trying to give my clients the best solution. I have a hard time competing bc I have to spend so much time trying to decode the MET language. I was hoping to get some efficient pointers here that might be helpful. my time is too valuable to hear you talk about food and the bathroom. I really need to understand this stuff. There’s too much work and not enough technicians. We ... more

4250 with Austin Blume
Q: What practical steps can technicians take to confirm whether flooding or LEV issues are causing a 4250?
Technicians should assess whether liquid is flooding the compressor, check the LEV states on outdoor units (LEV-2 variants, LEV4 for flash injection), examine temperature deltas like discharge superheat and suction superheat, review the last 10 error codes in the history, and perform a heat-gun test to boil off liquid. Also, test the inverter separately with a dedicated inverter test to see if the balanced three-phase voltage output is correct, and check that LEV positions match the refrigerant flow path to avoid backflow to suction. These steps help differentiate compressor vs. LEV vs. outdoor path problems rather than simply swapping parts.
4250 with Austin Blume
Q: What is the 4250 error code and when does it show up across different system configurations?
The 4250 is an instantaneous overcurrent lockout indicating the compressor is drawing too much current. It can appear on city multi, one-to-one, or even during low-load situations if liquid slugging or flooding occurs; the detail codes (e.g., 106 for instantaneous overcurrent, 104 for ground fault) help pinpoint whether the issue is the compressor, inverter, or external refrigerant path. Troubleshooting starts with verifying the compressor is actually the problem, using inverter tests and maintenance tool readings to isolate the inverter from the compressor.
Common TSA Calls Update with Austin Blume
Q: What does tech support need from our listeners when you call in?
Tech support needs general information such as incoming voltage and error codes to assist effectively.
Vacuums and Air with Ty Branaman
Q: What are you doing now?
Ty Branaman discusses his work with the Grip Foundation, where he helps support the trades and inspire children to explore different trades through hands-on camps.
Technical Support with Brent Cox
Q: What information do you want a contractor to have before he calls you?
Brent says contractors need to understand why they're calling and what they're working on. Having model and serial numbers is crucial.
