I’m really torn about how I feel about all of this. I listened to the entirety of the podcast and I simply can’t understand why this is being called sexual assault. As a woman who has experienced coercive sexual control, being starstruck and willing to engage in sexual acts that you later regret is not assault. It is not coercive control. It is consent. As a long time fan of Gaiman’s work this is a hard listen. Not much is revealed that hasn’t been already, and the podcast would have benefitted from a thorough editing process. But worst of all is listening to the male reporter’s feeble attempt at speaking English. The accent is so heavy and tough to listen to that I nearly gave up midway.
The first story with the nanny was upsetting and icky. She seemed really vulnerable, and I understand going along with something that you know isn’t ok because you don’t have the experience or self esteem to take control of the situation. Been there. I kept thinking I was missing something. Why does she keep going to meet him? Why does... more
I couldn’t even imagine how men navigate dating/sex nowadays. The original girl Repeatedly said it was consensual in her own words! While it usually is the “feminist men” who are the true creepers, in this case, can’t help but think neither woman would be complaining if Neil hadn’t cut them off…🤔
This certainly does not rise to anything that should involve police/court/jail, just a good psychologist
