  • AI has changed Marketing Trends

Before AI agents, I really enjoyed this podcast. It was a great mix of content strategy, predictions, results, new ideas and how marketing can be better. Now, every single podcast revolves around AI agents and there’s not a single discussion of security or IP protection. Honestly, there’s not a discussion on the results from these agents. The host pushes or steers the conversation towards AI agents. I’ve since expanded my marketing podcast rotation and this show features much less.

Marketing Has Forgotten What It’s For
Q: What does a humane, human-centric approach to marketing look like in practice?
Brand communication should feel human and transparent, avoiding dehumanizing language and focusing on the people behind the data, with leadership visible and accountable for customer experience.
Marketing Has Forgotten What It’s For
Q: What practical steps can CMOs take to connect their teams to business goals?
Ensure the overarching business goals are understood at all levels, align KPIs with those goals, and design organizational structures that enable horizontal collaboration rather than purely vertical expertise.
Marketing Has Forgotten What It’s For
Q: How should marketing be measured at large organizations to reflect true impact?
Marketing should be measured not only by campaigns or brand metrics but also by contribution to revenue growth and value creation, with financial proxies added to leadership evaluations.
Marketing Has Forgotten What It’s For
Q: Why do you believe many CMOs have a fundamentally wrong job description?
Because the JD is often untethered from business results and focuses on tactical amplification rather than shaping growth, which misaligns the role with what the company actually needs to move the business forward.
Why 90% of Your Brain Ignores Ads
Q: How should brands structure a campaign around core truths rather than templates?
Identify the core truth of the audience, decide the storytelling category and the brand's role, ensure personal relevance, and craft the arc so the memory gets created at the right moment rather than forcing a quick 'hook' early on.
