This was my first time listening but I could only get through some of the multi part episode of Aku no Hana. Couldn't finish it. Morgana and Shamus come off as weirdly judgemental and nitpicky. And I hate when people project what they WANT to happen in a story and use that as a critique against the actual story. Also, Morgana just straight up gives out a false lesson on female anatomy lol. The main guy was enjoyable to listen to though (Dakuzu?). The one that speaks Japanese. From what I could e... more
Manga Machinations is an excellent manga podcast with a lot to offer for enjoyers of the medium, especially if you are looking for more exposure to indie and lesser known manga. The hosts are charming, have good rapport with one another and each bring a different perspective to the discussions.
For a show that's been running for as long as it has, it's impressive how they've continued to keep things fresh by not sticking to any particular format for too long. Whether it's reviewing 1-2 volumes ... more
There's lots of manga out there, & it's overwhelming to decide which series to invest in. MangaMac helps me stay in-the-know with current & popular titles, while peering under the surface & discovering highbrow ignored gems. Most importantly, the episodes feel fun! The crew have great chemistry, & it shows. They do some fun deep dives into obscure manga, in an approachable way. They cover manga for all, but as a queer listener, I appreciate how they cover LGBT titles like Until I Love Myself.

It all feels approachable, (and at the risk of sounding corny) like casually hanging with buddies while learni... more
The podcast does a great job of covering multiple types of manga and adjacent materials. Not just the go to main stream but some of the coolest off beat and unknown manga. The crew has also been growing to get more community involvement with live
streams and weekly mahjong games with fans. Never to late to click with the best manga podcast out there not talking about all the same stuff as the others.
