In this bonus episode, Mary Harrington and I spoke about the public response to the Lindsay Clancy murder case. Be warned, there are some dark themes discussed.

There is a certain kind of caricature of women that pops up in cultural commentary right now. Modern women, we are told, are inundated with male attention at all times, and all of it is deeply unwelcome. According to this view, says Phoebe Maltz Bovy... more
For this bonus episode, I spoke with Johann Kurtz about his viral essay 'Young adults are poor despite every metric which suggests otherwise', which was partly inspired by a previous MMM bonus episode.

I love this podcast! Great guests, far-ranging conversations. Favorite combos: Louise and Mary Harrington, and Louise and Jonathan Pageau.
When I think of podcasts that have truly shifted the way I think about something, this one comes to mind. Loved the latest episode about fairy tales. Well done!
Louise is wrong about laws in the USA. You are required to have a fence around your pool and bicycle helmets are required for children. Do research better đ
Not sure how I'd improve upon it. She's very pretty so maybe a video version?
Do you suppose that maybe, when she gets home, Perry pulls on the dungarees and heads off to her socialist book club? Nothing about her âtradâ persona is convincing. Thin, indefensible positions on âAngloâ superiority, advanced by someone who can easily see the other side of the argument. Indifference to children and to (real-life) mothers. Itâs a fab moneyspinner, of course: will pay for plenty of blue hair dye in retirement.

Across recent episodes, the show examines politics, culture, and social norms from a provocative, often contrarian angle. Core threads include populism and elite dynamics, the role of media in shaping public opinion, and how policy intersects with family life, gender, and religion. Conversations frequently feature scholars, journalists, and thinkers who bring historical context, data-informed analysis, and provocative viewpoints, with a knack for nuanced questions and rigorous follow-ups. A notable strength is the ability to host thoughtful interviews with guests who challenge conventional wisdom, while maintaining accessible, conversation-style pacing that invites listeners to reassess their assumptions.
