  • Yeah… just.. yeah

I’ve given this show an honest try for a while now and while I respect their hustle it’s pretty amateur at best. One dude doesn’t even use a microphone and it just sounds like you’re listening to a zoom call. And it’s a call between two guys who’ve read the NHL rule book and latest headlines but still have no idea how to pronounce a solid 73.6% of the players names or formulate a genuine thought on the game. Only the results of said game can be heard. There is a lot of , nasally guy - “what can... more

  • Locked on Red Wings

Generally good talk, but they repeat themselves and say ‘like’ too much - it often sounds like they didn’t prepare for the podcast at all.

  • Best of Locked On network - Not the best of Wings coverage podcasts

Scotty and Brian are good enough to be added to a daily rotation if you love the Wings. The frequent uploads are nice and they are one of the best of the LOPN shows, but they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to Wings focused shows overall. Most shows are often way too emotionally driven and they often have the most seemingly casual takes, which after a bad loss or when on the losing streak makes this show near unbearable to listen to.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MAILBAG MONDAY: Can Marco Kasper crack 50 points? How much blame does Chris Ilitch share?
Q: Larry asks if Yzerman would place Dylan Larkin on waivers to pressure a trade, and what that would mean for the Red Wings.
They treat it as an unlikely bluff that would hurt the team, arguing that forcing a waiver outcome would be risky and likely counterproductive given the team's asset value and Larkin's role.
MAILBAG MONDAY: Can Marco Kasper crack 50 points? How much blame does Chris Ilitch share?
Q: Logan asks if Kasper is going to have a big rebound season, maybe even hitting 50 points. What's the hosts' take on Kasper's ceiling?
The hosts acknowledge 50 points is possible but not guaranteed, suggesting a ceiling around that mark with a strong year, while emphasizing Kasper's development, two-way play, and center responsibilities as key levers for growth.
BREAKING: The Detroit Red Wings Select JP Hurlbert 23rd Overall
Q: Where does JP Hurlbert fit into the plan for the Detroit Red Wings?
Hurlbert is viewed as a high-upside forward who could complement the team's strategy of adding skilled players with strong offensive ability, potentially bridging development timelines while the roster adjusts around Larkin's status and the goalie pipeline.
UTAH EMERGES: The Mammoth have been linked to both Dylan Larkin and Sebastian Cossa — Are they the best option?
Q: Minnesota vs Vegas vs Florida — which team would be best for Dylan Larkin and why?
Minnesota is seen as the most likely landing spot among the three due to proximity to home, a win-now mentality, and strong organizational fit, though Vegas represents the dream option for its prestige; Florida is considered a potential, asset-friendly alternative.
What's behind Grand Rapids Griffins insane run? Ft. Hockeytown West
Q: Who are the key players contributing to the Griffins' success?
