Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Who are some good possible undrafted free agents or late second round picks for the Indiana Pacers?
Q: Is there anybody you feel like mocks have had really late that you think is pretty good, that the Pacers could keep an eye on?
Yes, there are several late-round targets worth monitoring, including players with strong defensive versatility and playmaking instincts, who could adapt to the Pacers' up-tempo system even if their shooting is not elite. These players often project best to a two-way contract with a path to a standard contract if they develop.
One-on-one with new Noblesville Boom head coach (and former Pacer) Bryce Taylor + Pacers/NBA news
Q: So what do you hope is maybe a little different or will change about the way the team plays and is operated with you running the show now?
We want to build on the strong foundation already in place, with a heavy emphasis on player development, a hands-on approach to each player's growth, and creating a competitive, accountable environment where everyone on the staff and players feels empowered to improve daily.
One-on-one with new Noblesville Boom head coach (and former Pacer) Bryce Taylor + Pacers/NBA news
Q: All right, Bryce, so I just want to start with this. I mean, this is a huge deal in your coaching journey. What does this all mean to you to get this chance?
It's an amazing opportunity and I'm extremely excited. I've been working toward something like this for a while, and I'm grateful for the chance to impact the players, staff, and the organization with a focused growth mindset and a long-term development plan.
Pacers positional free agency preview: What small forward targets make sense for Indiana Pacers?
Q: But is there any specific skill that you would be looking for?
The guest emphasizes prioritizing ball handling and a versatile shooter who can create or relieve pressure in the offense, noting that a pure scorer without playmaking can be less valuable if they can't fit the Pacers' pace and system; a balanced wing who can shoot, defend, and handle the ball would be ideal.
SG season review: What to make of up and down 2025-26 season from Ben Sheppard and Quenton Jackson
Q: What is it about Quentin Jackson that makes his boom-or-bust games rare but impactful?
Jackson's speed and burst allow him to penetrate and draw attention, but his passing and decision-making aren't consistently at a high level, which makes his best games contingent on favorable matchups and his athletic rush to the rim.
