  • Tanking sucks

I like the podcast but there is too much focus on tanking. Tanking is no fun for a season ticket holder or true fan. Actively trying to lose is depressing and not worthy of a sport or the athletes. And it’s a lottery anyway so they are just incrementally increasing chance to get a high pick that might not work out. If next season is another season where they actively trying to tank, I’m out. Just not fun. Fans and players deserve better.

  • Great Nets Pod

Hey Erik, Big fan of the podcast. I’ve been a Nets fan for a long time. Grew up going to games in Jersey. Love your analysis after each game. This is the best a Nets podcast out there. Keep it up.

  • Lifelong Nets fan - good listen!

Good listen, lifelong Nets fan living in Chicago. Now that they’re not a good team and never on national TV it can be hard to keep up so really appreciate this podcast and the consistency with how often they’re posting. Just got league pass and as bad as they are always excited to keep up.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

INTEL: Brooklyn Nets Feeling ZERO Urgency To Extend Michael Porter Jr. | Is a Trade Coming?
Q: Will he be extended?
The hosts and guest discuss a path to extending MPJ by leveraging cap space and potentially front-loading an extension, but acknowledge the Nets are not committed to a quick deadline and may instead prefer trade leverage.
RISER: Can Chaney Johnson CARVE Out Role With Brooklyn Nets After DOMINATING NBA Summer League?
Q: But Lucas, what have you made of Chaney Johnson's Summer League performance and do you think that it has real translatability to the NBA?
Lucas argues that Johnson has established a credible base—two-way deployment potential, urgency in rebounding, and energy on drives—that could translate into a usable role as a mobile, small-ball center, especially if he continues to show efficiency and a floor game that includes some shooting and playmaking reads.
BREAKING: Brooklyn Nets Sign Moe Wagner To Multi-Year Contract After Nic Claxton Trade | What's Next?
Q: What was your initial reaction to the Moe Wagner signing and how it pairs with Dayron Sharp?
The hosts discuss that Wagner is a serviceable backup who can eat minutes, with some defensive fit concerns, and that the move seems like a prudent, short-term solution rather than a long-term fix.
INSIDER: Do Brooklyn Nets Have BIG MOVE Coming On Trade Or Free Agent Market? Potential Targets?
Q: Is there any reason they didn't pursue Peyton Watson, given the cap space and interest around him?
Peyton Watson was considered, but the Nets reportedly did not view him as the best long-term fit alongside their core, and concerns about his fit and price point reduced urgency to pursue him.
INSIDER: Do Brooklyn Nets Have BIG MOVE Coming On Trade Or Free Agent Market? Potential Targets?
Q: Do you think Sean Marks has done or does he have another move up his sleeve?
There could be another move if the right fit arises, but the emphasis appears to be maximizing development of the current young core and maintaining long-term flexibility rather than chasing big-money, short-term wins.
