  • Painful listen

Not a regular listener to the Squad Show pod as routinely enjoy other Bolts pods such as David and Dan, but decided to try it out again for an offseason check-in. Woof, this LAC pod is very hard to listen to.

    Today’s episode consisted of:

    • Hosts repeatedly talking over one another.

    • Lead hosting not remembering Brenen Thompson’s name despite a segment featuring top draft picks.

    • Lead hosting messily googling facts during show, and not winning the battle.

    • Hosts guessing incorrectly status... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

BREAKOUT: Los Angeles Chargers’ Tarheeb Still Set to DOMINATE in 2026 with a Major Leap
Q: How might Tre Harris impact the offense in 2026?
Tre Harris showed flashes as a tough, physical receiver with contested catches and yak after the catch, and with Keenan Allen out, he's in line for more targets, including more third-down and red-zone involvement, potentially turning a modest rookie season into a sizable sophomore breakout.
BREAKOUT: Los Angeles Chargers’ Tarheeb Still Set to DOMINATE in 2026 with a Major Leap
Q: What makes Tarheeb Still a breakout candidate for 2026?
Tarheeb Still displayed ball skills and range as a rookie, and with a year of experience and a defensive system that emphasizes getting hands on more footballs, he's positioned to grow into a true building block on the edge, while reducing missed tackles and increasing competition for turnover opportunities.
POPPER JOINS: Omarion Hampton may be BEST Running Back In the NFL Under Mike McDaniel
Q: What is your assessment of Omarion Hampton's potential with this coaching staff?
Popper and the hosts believe Hampton has top-tier physical tools and speed; if he stays healthy, he could become one of the league's top running backs, potentially top-five or better.
POPPER JOINS: Omarion Hampton may be BEST Running Back In the NFL Under Mike McDaniel
Q: What did you see as the biggest impact Mike McDaniel could have on Justin Herbert in the upcoming season?
Popper explained that McDaniel can structure the offense to get Herbert easier completions, using play-action and bootlegs to reduce pressure, which should help Herbert stay in rhythm and generate big plays.
CHARGERS SQUAD: Chargers getting ready for the final preseason game. We will see any starters?
Q: How many plays did the starters get in the final preseason game?
The consensus among the hosts is that six to nine plays for the starters is likely, with some disagreement but a general expectation of limited time for veterans and more for younger players.
