  • It’s fine.

Pod is fine. With most podcasts, just gotta remember that they literally do not know any more about baseball than you do. And when they record the pod with the crying because the Braves didn’t trade for five Nolan Ryans at the deadline, just remember they are paid for making content.

  • Great pod

I’ve been listening to Jake for a few years now. By far my favorite pod for Braves baseball. Lindsey does a great job on the post-cast as well. Look forward to it after every win.

  • FINALLY someone else

Massive 5 stars to whoever finally decided that this show desperately needed another voice. The new host brings such a fresh voice to the postgame shows. Makes listening to the solo episodes with the wannabe GM a little more bearable now.

  • False review info

I saw a review that said there were racial slurs. I have watched for a while and can assure you there aren’t especially because the guy who made it had the name of Celtics 2025 so I don’t think he knows what he is talking about because this podcast is gas!!

  • Can’t please everyone

The fact that there are comments here complaining that Jake is both too positive and too negative should tell you that he does a good job of covering the team. Listen to this everyday. Keep it up!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Which Team Should the Atlanta Braves AVOID in the Postseason
Q: During the postseason, do you think we will see Walt return to his early season aggressive managerial strategy?
Yes. The host argues that postseason management differs from the regular season and that a more aggressive bullpen usage and quick-trigger approach is appropriate in the playoffs to maximize chances, recalling past Braves success when bullpen momentum was high.
Which Team Should the Atlanta Braves AVOID in the Postseason
Q: Come postseason, which team do you definitely don't want to face and which one do we have the best chance to dominate and why?
The host explains that there isn't a single easy matchup in the National League and that all top contenders—Phillies, Dodgers, Cubs, Brewers, Diamondbacks, and Padres—present challenges; Phillies stand out as a scarier option due to postseason history, but matchups are fluid and any path requires beating strong starting pitching. The overarching theme is that the Braves must be prepared for multiple tough series and that there isn't a “give me” opponent.
Atlanta Braves Still Searching For Another Playoff Starter
Q: Who is the likely Game 3 starter and what would the plan look like if you go with a traditional starter vs piggyback?
Grant Holmes or Martín Pérez emerge as leaders for Game 3, with the possibility of using AJ Smith-Shawver or a piggyback to cover early innings, aiming for stability and length.
Atlanta Braves Still Searching For Another Playoff Starter
Q: From Colin Moses, do you see someone who has separated themselves as a game three starter in the postseason? If not, how would you navigate game three with the staff?
The host lays out several candidates (Martín Pérez, Bryce Elder, Grant Holmes, AJ Smith-Shawver) and analyzes how long they can go and how piggyback or opener strategies might be used, with the preference leaning toward whoever has the best end-of-month form for a five-inning requirement.
Atlanta Braves’ Pitching Prospects Breaking Out A New Secret Weapon
Q: What are you seeing in the progression of AJ Smith-Shawver to give Braves fans some hope that he could be a playoff contributor?
AJ Smith-Shawver has shown upward trends in both stuff and command, with fastball peaking around 97-99 mph, enhanced two-seam usage, and the early deployment of a new slider grip contributing to whiffs and improved feel. The combo of velocity, refined sequencing, and a more varied pitch mix suggests he could handle higher leverage innings in the postseason if innings and durability hold.
