I enjoy the pod but the hosts have the world’s worst main character syndrome to the point where they deem totally normal human experiences as embarrassing and weird (I.e. saying “hey besties welcome back to Girlhouse”, people riding bikes, and having to cross the street in traffic). They are so painfully hyperaware of themselves and how they are possibly being perceived at all times that they are crawling out of their skin every episode. Callie and Celia are the comfort and girlhood I never knew I needed. Their podcast feels like a cozy chat with your best friends — a rare gem that reminds us we’re all just girls trying our best.
Long time fan of Callie and I’ve listened to this podcast since it first came out. I want to word this as nice as possible and I’m not trying to be a hater but I’m just not entertained with the pod anymore. I feel like Callie and Celia have a bit of tension sometimes, and Callie can be pretty short tempered with Callie which is hard to listen to.
