Law is alive. It doesn’t live in books and words. It thrives in how well we understand and apply it to everyday life. We ask questions, find answers, and publish what we discover in feature episodes and live storytelling.

This podcast's early episodes were wonderfully produced with interesting, unique perspectives on how the law functioned for everyone (not just criminals). Now, though, every episode seems to be related to criminals or wrongfully convicted people.
But criminal law isn't all that exists in the world, and I wish LotL would go back to what it talked about before—how the law affects *everyone* and not just people in prisons.
Every episode is about prison life! Mix it up a little bit. Remember that... more
Five stars all the way. This podcast is eye-opening & often distrubing and essential for those reasons. We cannot close our eyes to injustice. I've enjoyed each episode immensely, but particular favorites include Radio Silenced (and the in-studio for that episode), Death on a Dairy, Bail or Bust, and the unforgettable Life as Lady J.
My only complaint is having to wait so long for each new episode.
I would not have thought you could made a captivating show about law. Ok, I know there are the TV series ad nauseum but this is about LAW. Keep it up.
I am consistently impressed by the high quality of reporting. I was especially impressed by the series on judicial elections.
One of my favourite podcasts. It is always well put together and informative.
Impressively well done podcast!! Extremely inspiring and informative, I can't stop listening.
Hoping to find a program about the law and how it applies to everyone as a whole. It only took a few episodes to see that this program is inherently slanted towards sympathizing with people who broke he law and now are complaining about its effects.
If you want a liberally slanted program that focuses on how horrible you are if you are white... then this is your show.
If you want a program that intends to make you feel like the law is so horrible that everyone should be released and forgiven t... more
Insightful, surprising, & challenging, but sometimes dripping with political ideology.
A very thorough, balanced and interesting show on a variety of legal issues.
I enjoy the intricasies of the law and stories about how the law works. It only takes a couple of episodes of this podcast however to understand their particular point of view. Stories generally concern people who you would otherwise sympathize with, but who broke the law and are now inconvinienced by having been brought to justice. Illegals being deported in accordance with the law. Inmates who find it troubling to be in jail. etc.
It's "This American Life" for legal stories.
Heavy-hitting, compassionate, on point, and always intelligent. Thanks for making one of my favorite pcs
Such a great set of perspectives on law. This podcast doesn't just look at law like it appears on paper, but rather really explores all of the complexities of law and how it effects everything. Very well done and I highly recommend!
I really like every aspect of this show from the stories through the delivery! Keep up the great work!
