I loved this series from start to finish. I was a child of the 80s and total Skoochies/Monastary kid. I lived downtown as an adult throughout the 90s as well. Even though I don’t feel like the TDO wrecked my ability to see shows or find a dance club, I realize the ordinance really did have a negative impact on the scene, especially to the kids in the 90s when Seattle music was dominating. Thank you for beautifully educating us on this really important chapter in NW history.
ABSOLUTELY loved every episode! So well put-together! I was 1 of these youth show-goers back then & hearing all this brought tears-of-joy since I was so INCREDIBLY fond of all-ages shows! 🩶
i turned this on as background noise and found myself instead being incredibly invested in everything being said
I moved to Seattle in 1999 for the amazing music and arts scene. I was in my 20s so I had no idea about the TDO. This podcast was a blast from the past… so much nostalgia from that time! I completely binged the entire series in one weekend.
Learned so much! Great history on Punk Rock and Hip Hop. I was an East Coast punk kid in the late 80s
