  • Sound Quality is Bad!!!

I like the subject matter of this podcast but the reliance on poorly recorded telephone interviews is bad! I most often start listening and then stop after a few minutes when I can't really understand what the interviewee is saying. I expect more from a big player like law.com

A Nuanced Discussion About Paul Weiss and Brad Karp
Q: What justified Brad Karp's decision to step down as Chair while remaining a partner?
Lat argues it was a practical compromise: addressing leadership optics and reputational concerns while preserving Karp's continued value as a practicing partner, especially given the Epstein-related scrutiny.
Legal Speak Presents "The Supreme Court Brief Spotlight" - Bill Kovacic
Q: Why did Congress create the FTC in 1914, and how is it structured to balance accountability and independence?
Congress designed the FTC as a multi-member body with removal for cause, intended to be accountable to Congress while providing a buffer from immediate presidential control to ensure consistent enforcement and expert decision-making.
LegalWeek 2026 Sneak Peek: The State of AI In the Legal Market
Q: If you had to pinpoint one or two, what are the biggest risks that organizations aren't preparing for?
The biggest risks center on governance, accountability, and who stands behind AI outputs in high-liability contexts; clients must decide who is responsible for the results and ensure accountability is embedded in delivery models rather than left as an abstract concept.
Deborah Farone Discusses Her New Book: "Breaking Ground: How Successful Women Lawyers Build Thriving Practices
Q: What advice do you have for women navigating the challenges of ascending in law firms?
I suggest treating yourself as your own business, having a business plan, and implementing consistent, small marketing efforts over time.
Deborah Farone Discusses Her New Book: "Breaking Ground: How Successful Women Lawyers Build Thriving Practices
Q: What made you decide to write this book?
I felt there was a need for more role models for women in law and to help them develop business skills that enable them to take control of their practices.
