Love this podcast! Sara and Rachel are great hosts, providing very witty and insightful commentary on old episodes of neighbours (currently just over half way through the second year). This was the period of the show that saw it soar to stratospheric heights in the UK and when I personally became a fan so it’s sometimes strange to hear criticism of the episodes. However, no-one can deny that, watched now, these episodes are quite clunky and “of their time” so the criticism is often very justifie... more
So funny and love looking at old Neighbours with our modern lens. Hosts are excellent.
I came back to Neighbours in the pandemic and was quickly hooked and in love with how inclusive it had become. I was so gutted when it was was cancelled that I decide do try a vintage-years rewatch and this podcast has been the perfect companion.
Lovely hosts, great funny commentary! Thank you so much❤️
I love this podcast. We watch vintage Neighbours from the start with Sarah and Rachael - and they tell it like it is. The good, bad, sad, funny, and downright ridiculous. What has aged well, and what hasn’t. The social attitudes of the 80’s that may, or may not be acceptable today. It’s all up for discussion. We all love the show, and it’s interesting and fun to watch through 21st century eyes. Love the Facebook group that goes along with it, where the girls interact with the listeners’ views. K... more
This podcast is the perfect companion for a Neighbours re-watch. Whilst Neighbours has been off the air, I decided to start watching from the beginning again, but listening to Leaving Erinsborough makes the experience so much more fun. I always look forward to hearing Sarah and Rachel dissect the episodes I’ve seen and discovering what they’ve found to pull apart. I love the fact they don’t take themselves or the show too seriously. It’s a compelling listen.
If you’re a Neighbours fan, especially of the early years episodes, you are going to love Leaving Erinsborough. Lots of laughs and nostalgia as Sara and Rachel rewatch and discuss Neighbours from the start. Thanks for an awesome podcast!
I love the format of this podcast. What a great idea to have two people watching 10 episodes of Neighbours, and talking to us about their observations. Before listening to this podcast, I was so used to old Neighbours, I hadn't thought about how someone watching for the first time in 2022 would see it. Really interesting.
I’ve been waiting for the series 2 recaps. Especially the transition from 7 to 10. It was incredible at the time, the new titles, sets (Robinson house being redecorated due to 7 not allowing 10 to have items) and new hair do’s. So glad you’ve carried on doing this podcast in to the new series. Only issues is sometimes it feels like Sara doesn’t listen to her guests when they talk about stuff they’ve noticed, and it’s key to remember that this was a different time. In the 80s it was considered ah... more
Just what I needed to fix my ‘Leaving Erinsborough’ blues! Thank you for this podcast ❤️❤️
For anyone bereft by the departure of Neighbours from our screens, join in with the fun and re-watch from the beginning! This podcast is the perfect companion… so happy to have the chance to keep Neighbours in my life and to feel like others are enjoying the nostalgia-fest along with me!
I’m usually pretty late to podcasts listening so it’s nice to be in on this one from the start. Very entertaining and funny a great nostalgic trip for me, can’t wait for more.
