What’s left to say about “The Godfather"? Upon the film’s release in 1972, it almost instantly became a byword for the best Hollywood has to offer. It minted a new generation of stars, earned hundreds of millions of dollars, established Francis Ford Coppola as one of the best directors of his generation, and changed the way Americans viewed the mafia—and cinema—forever.
And yet, “The Godfathe... more

You title your book "Leave the gun, take the cannoli" even though Sarah Vowell famously published her book (in 2000, Simon & Shuster) with the title: "Take the cannoli" (stories about the movie The Godfather) ??? You couldn't come up with a more original title for your book written (checks notes)...October 2021 !?!? You had to rip off her title?? Very lame. The podcast shows even less creativity.
And OMG so many many many advertisements! Just so many ads!!
Very good podcast if you’re looking for something that’s light and easy by people who really appreciate the Godfather and some of the creators of the film. I really enjoyed this.
Sorry, misses the mark by miles, sounds so phony. Can’t even get the actors names right. Maybe they read a book and decided to give it a go, don’t waste your time.
As a Godfather fan i was looking forward to listening when I saw this podcast come up. The content is really good and I enjoyed hearing some of the back stories about cast and crew.
The biggest issue I have is with the amount of ads in the casts. Anything from 5 - 12 minutes per cast
Funny, moving, jaw dropping........one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to
