  • Noise snippets

I’m very sorry but the recent addition over the last few episodes on short seconds snippets of other noise saying the same word the speaker just said, it’s incredibly disturbing . Please stop using these.

Critical Mast: Biomimicry of Collective and Swarming Behavior with Dr. Iain Couzin
Q: What triggers desert locusts to swarm?
Desert locusts become social when they are forced together due to dwindling resources; they do not prefer to be in groups inherently but adapt their behavior under certain population pressures.
Critical Mast: Biomimicry of Collective and Swarming Behavior with Dr. Iain Couzin
Q: What are the key principles of coordinated movement in animal behavior?
There are fundamental differences in collectives, like how ants work under strict social structures versus how fish and birds coordinate despite being unrelated. They follow simple local rules that lead to surprisingly complex group behaviors.
Biomimicry in Architecture with Michael Pawlyn
Q: Can we make the shift towards living regeneratively in harmony with nature?
Pawlyn believes we need an epochal shift in thinking that matches the level of change during the Scientific Revolution and acknowledges the existing solutions while also shifting mindsets.
Biomimicry in Architecture with Michael Pawlyn
Q: How do we align to nature?
Pawlyn emphasizes the need for a systems-level rethinking where humans embed their actions and designs into the natural world, facilitating connectivity with ecosystems.
