I am a Belgian native and around 10 when Dutrouw’ crimes were discovered. At school, we also participated in the white marches. This crime scarred many of us, I don’t think people in Belgium had ever been confronted with such crimes and it had a lasting impact on our police and justice system. So a must listen!
Excellent coverage of this horrific tale.
This is a very interesting and incredibly well researched and delivered story. Matt is definitely one of the best journalists out there. I was so compelled by the way he cared and presented the story, that I bing listened to it.
I cannot wait to hear more fascinating and compassionate stories from him. Fantastic work!!!
This story is devastating. The reporting was good but I feel that the host would go out of his way to sound more dramatic and creepy when he would narrate. His voice is very different, more more sincere when he’s interviewing his subjects. Disliked the theme song; also, overly creepy. Felt a bit sensationalized overall.
I recently listened to the fourth season on Marc Dutroux. I think it's a great podcast. I am Belgian and was 12 years old when the affair came to light. For a very long time, I avoided this subject because I found it too painful. However, I really like this podcast by Matt Graves. He looks at the affair with fresh and new eyes and asks critical questions that people in Belgium are unwilling or afraid to ask. Recently I discovered more podcasts by this creator among others on RTBF. Highly recomme... more
