  • Fantastic pod

My only qualm with this podcast is that it’s unfinished. I much prefer this LOTR LCG podcast over others like Card Talk because they tackle the game in a progression style. Their banter is great and I love how they go about discussing cards, strategies, etc. If you ever find time to finish the series John and Em, I implore you to do so!

  • Perfect companion podcast to the game

John and Em are very fun to listen to and provide a great insight into this game from a newcomer’s perspective. They also cover many commonly misunderstood rules. I adore their ability to interpret the thematic designs of the cards, proving that this game is more than just a deckbuilding puzzle to solve provided you slow down and use a bit of imagination.

  • Great guide to an amazing game

I’ve got to episode 13 so I’m writing a review. I started playing LOTR LCG in 2022 when the revised core came out. It’s been fantastic to listen and learn as Jon and Em have taken me through each of the cards and the quests so far. The show really makes me think about he cards and how I can best use them. Keep the episodes coming both!!

Episode 29: Get Up Lazy-bones
Q: If Legolas has a Blade of Gondolin and destroys an enemy, can he trigger his response, finish off a quest card, and still place progress tokens on the next quest with the Blade of Gondolin's response?
Yes. Quest cards are immediately replaced as soon as the players place enough progress on them. This replacement does not interrupt the current round sequence, meaning you can still trigger the effects.
