Not all post-apocalyptic or dystopian stories need to be terrible, nearly hopeless tales of barely eeked-out survival. This is one of those stories, told through the voices of a talented cast and sound designers.
One of the best fiction podcasts out there. The writing and directing and excellent. The music is incredible. But the acting is some of the best I’ve heard in audio drama.
I feel as though I, a cishet white boy from Pennsylvania, am not necessarily in the target demographic for the themes in this story. With that said, Lake Song is kind of a wonder. It's about community, by community, for community.
The sound is breathtaking at times. The story takes some turns which I found thrilling. The music gave me goosebumps. There were character moments which I struggled to understand, but I can't criticize for not being able to relate. That just means the show is talking ... more
I have been listening to podcasts for over 2 years now and I have never been so compelled to leave a review. Nor have I ever left a review for any other podcast. I really enjoyed the storyline and the music. Most of all the message really hit home. I look forward to listening to more podcasts from Make Believe media. Keep up the great work.
