Lake Song

Not all post-apocalyptic or dystopian stories need to be terrible, nearly hopeless tales of barely eeked-out survival. This is one of those stories, told through the voices of a talented cast and sound designers.

One of the best fiction podcasts out there. The writing and directing and excellent. The music is incredible. But the acting is some of the best I’ve heard in audio drama.

I feel as though I, a cishet white boy from Pennsylvania, am not necessarily in the target demographic for the themes in this story. With that said, Lake Song is kind of a wonder. It's about community, by community, for community.

The sound is breathtaking at times. The story takes some turns which I found thrilling. The music gave me goosebumps. There were character moments which I struggled to understand, but I can't criticize for not being able to relate. That just means the show is talking ... more

I have been listening to podcasts for over 2 years now and I have never been so compelled to leave a review. Nor have I ever left a review for any other podcast. I really enjoyed the storyline and the music. Most of all the message really hit home. I look forward to listening to more podcasts from Make Believe media. Keep up the great work.

I am enthralled, and I just love the music

I was going to wait until the end of the series to give a rating, but I just listened to episode 11 and was moved to tears. I listen to podcasts while I clean houses and had to stop cleaning a sink because my tears were making it hard to see. This story is original, heartfelt, deep, and very well acted. The music is outstanding as well. Thank you!!

I needed a new podcast that wasn’t true crime because it was getting to be too much but nothing else keeps me interested. This did the trick! Excited to see what other shows they may have and I’m hoping for more seasons of this.

I’ve listened till episode 5 and decided I won’t finish the series. It bothers me how it jumps back and forth between characters and is a little hard to follow. There also isn’t very much background provided to understand the setting.

I appreciate so much about this unique podcast. The characters stick with me … and the audio mix! Elegant! Most of all I’m left thinking a lot about the future, how humans will cooperate — or not— to save/create a healthy city and world. Thanks for keeping me up at night, Lake Song!

Thank you to the creatives for your imaginative, resonant and skillfully produced program. Real quality. These kind of productions are getting harder and harder to find. I’m sure more are out there, it’s just so difficult sifting through this new wave of podcasts that seem to be strictly money grabs - more ads than story. I hope the industry continues to back artists and innovators like yall. Thank you for this!
