  • This is it

I just started listening to this podcast and it has been a blessing, pure hip hop, love it. I wish the episodes were longer…I would love to hear a little more stories, background, and thoughts from some of the different talent…(bit greedy).

Killa Kel is brilliant, and although I have been cherry picking episodes, the guests are elite too.

Killa Kel did an extremely rare interview with one of my biggest inspirations and just for that he deserves the 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

KKPC #687 - SIMON BASSLINE SMITH (DRUM&BASS DJ PRODUCER)
Q: How did the shift from blues/folk parties to electro and then jungle happen for you?
The shift happened as the scene absorbed new influences from electro and Chicago/acid house, with DJs seeking the next thing and experimenting with tempo, breaks, and new production tools; this era seeded jungle and drum and bass through open-minded experimentation, collaborations, and the tape-pack culture that spread new sounds beyond clubs.
KKPC #685 - RAS CEYLON (WU TANG CLAN / OAKLAND USA)
Q: How did you get into Wu-Tang, and what drew you to the family?
Ras Ceylon describes growing up as a Wu-Tang head since the 90s, meeting members in person, and eventually being invited into the family circle through collaborations and mentorship from senior members like Prodigal Son and Oliver Power Grant.
KKPC #669 - REACH CBM ( EAST LONDON GRAFFITI ARTIST)
Q: What's the lowest point that you've experienced during your addiction?
Reach shares how he faced numerous low points, including the death of friends, long prison sentences, and a generally chaotic lifestyle.
KKPC #661 - PEZ (PIONEER 90'S RAVE FLYER & GENRE DEFINING ART DESIGNER, UK)
Q: How did you even get into it? How did it all begin for you from a graphic design point of view?
Pez discusses his journey into graphic design, mentioning early influences and his first commissions that set him on the path to creating rave flyers.
KKPC # 654 - DJ POGO (UK SCRATCH DJ CHAMPION/ PIONEER)
Q: What's the future for you Pogo?
DJ Pogo shares that he is working with Swift on new edits and remixes, focusing on pushing the culture forward.
