In each episode, Patrick Hamilton and Gena Radcliffe unpack all the gory details of horror cinema's least discussed topic: the characters. From Friday the 13th to the Evil Dead franchise and beyond, our mission is to detail each hack, slash, and decapitation in the hopes that a victim's untimely end is just the beginning of the jokes we can make about them.

  • The best part of any horror movie - the characters

Great podcast. I heard about it from a guest appearance on some other podcast, I had to seek it out the second I heard the focus was on characters. It has quickly become one of my favourite horror podcasts.

The first Friday the 13th is one of my most watched movies, so I was really happy to start from the earliest episodes of the podcast to hear the detailed breakdown and discussion of my favourite part of any horror movie - the characters.

I find myself nodding in agreement with the hosts throughout each episode. I appreciate their fan-oriented approach where they find ways to have a good time and laugh at the ridiculousness that sometimes makes it into movies while also just celebrating and enjoying horror films.

  • A very special podcast

Every so often I look for a new movie related podcast. I keep not subscribing to them because I compare them to kill by kill, and they just don’t stack up.
