In each episode, Patrick Hamilton and Gena Radcliffe unpack all the gory details of horror cinema's least discussed topic: the characters. From Friday the 13th to the Evil Dead franchise and beyond, our mission is to detail each hack, slash, and decapitation in the hopes that a victim's untimely end is just the beginning of the jokes we can make about them.

  • Can’t help themselves

Discovered this podcast a few days ago. Listened to a couple episodes. It was OK.

Of course, couldn’t just talk movies. Had to insert their misinformed, divisive political opinion into their show. No one cares about your MSNBC fueled opinions

  • The best part of any horror movie - the characters

Great podcast. I heard about it from a guest appearance on some other podcast, I had to seek it out the second I heard the focus was on characters. It has quickly become one of my favourite horror podcasts.

The first Friday the 13th is one of my most watched movies, so I was really happy to start from the earliest episodes of the podcast to hear the detailed breakdown and discussion of my favourite part of any horror movie - the characters.

Friday the 13th (1980) vol 2 redux
Q: Would you rather have your throat slashed in the middle of the Jersey Woods, or would you have your throat slashed and have your body deposited on the top bunk of where people are screwing on the bottom?
I would rather have my throat slashed and have my body discovered in the middle of the woods since it's a scarier death.
Friday the 13th (1980) vol 2 redux
Q: How much do you think Annie is making as the camp cook?
She's probably making around thirty dollars a week slinging around two-gallon cans of chocolate pudding.
Black Christmas (w/ Scout Tafoya)
Q: When was the first time you saw Black Christmas and what was your reaction to it at the time?
Scout mentions seeing it very young and growing up around horror films thanks to his dad, leading to a keen understanding of horror's genre complexities.
Silent Rage (w/ Galen Howard)
Q: Galen, where can people find you out there on the World Wide Web?
You can find me most actively, I'd say, on the instant gram, Galen Howard, all one word.
The Dead Zone (w/ Matthew Jackson)
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of the adaptation of The Dead Zone?
The center of the story has to be Johnny Smith's journey, despite the book's sprawling nature.
