  • Could be better without banging on desk and lame audio inserts

Matts Wilander is great! The host AC annoyingly bangs on his desk constantly when making points in conversation. Super irritating habit for audio content and shocking that no one has told AC to cut it out. Also the “Here’s Johnny” and “Should have done your research” audio clips are super cringey. Leave those for rush hour radio disc jockeys.

  • Guests are clueless. Show is basically a commercial for a challenger as well.

The tennis insight is average at best. The”ex teammate “ Tom Fontana is clueless. Tiafoo? Cant pronounce Hrkacz (or never saw him play), Naydoll really?? The worst is he referred to Radacanu as the “girl who won the open”. Where did they find this moron? They spend too much time hyping the Arizona challenger. Really likes its so important to guys careers. Other than the bits from Mats, the analysis is so mundane and predictable. Way better tennis pods out there.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Amanda gave it her all at Wimbledon, and it ended the way it started, with a love and love score line. That aside, she beat #1 to get to the grandest final of 'em all, and that is a beautiful thing.
Q: Is this the best possible outcome for the sport given the Sinner–Alcaraz rivalry and the broader field?
Mats Wilander argues that having Sinner win underlines both the rivalry's legitimacy and a bright future for tennis, with Alcaraz still capable of competing at the highest level. The conversation underscores the compelling narrative of two young stars driving the sport forward.
Wilander makes strong showing in Kona!
Q: What was the turning point that helped you redefine yourself after reaching number one and facing pressure?
A combination of changing personal priorities, getting physically stronger with a dedicated coach, and redefining my identity beyond being a champion. This shift allowed me to approach tennis with a broader, more sustainable mindset rather than chasing just trophies.
On April 20th, we lost one of the truly great ones with the passing of Jim Loehr. Doctor Loehr was a game change in so ways, and in so many lives. He was the Johnny Carson of Sports Psychologists.
Q: How did Loehr influence your personal development, Mats?
He provided guidance on balancing ambition with humility and focusing on the journey rather than just trophies.
On April 20th, we lost one of the truly great ones with the passing of Jim Loehr. Doctor Loehr was a game change in so ways, and in so many lives. He was the Johnny Carson of Sports Psychologists.
Q: What made Jim Loehr a pioneer in tennis psychology?
His early, foundational work in integrating mental skills with performance, and his hands-on coaching approach that helped players manage pressure and maintain perspective.
The French Champs are the best, everyone else are the rest. Carlitos was en fuego, and Iga has women's tennis by the throat. A bit ironic that Sinner is #1 after his RG result? Is Osaka back to being a threat?
Q: Are we more likely to see four different men win major championships this year, or are we more likely to see Alcaraz and Sinner win them all?
It's more likely to see Alcaraz and Sinner win all the majors recently, especially considering Djokovic's injury and Zverev's mental challenges after recent performances.
