  • Unimpressed

Kerre Woodham used to seem like a really smart, sunny personality, but on this show she’s biased, bitter & frankly, unimaginative. It’s not the Woodham I remember. When she has had another perspective on the show I sometimes thought she’ll “get it”, but sadly no. I’m disappointed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jordan Williams: Taxpayers Union Director chats council rush to sign iwi agreements before RMA reform
Q: What would you like to see the government do about these agreements?
Change the law to scrap the agreements and return resource management decisions to democratically elected councillors rather than in unity with unelected bodies.
Jordan Williams: Taxpayers Union Director chats council rush to sign iwi agreements before RMA reform
Q: Why is there concern about councils embedding co-governance agreements now?
Because the new RMA framework will cement current arrangements, and embedding these agreements could lock in power imbalances that favor iwi over local councils, limiting democratic decision-making.
Tania Tapsell: Rotorua Mayor discusses the dismantling of iconic the Prince's Gate Archway
Q: Is this about erasing colonial history?
No, the decision is framed as a safety and maintenance issue connected to the ongoing museum rebuild, with Heritage New Zealand supportive of careful handling due to safety risks.
Tania Tapsell: Rotorua Mayor discusses the dismantling of iconic the Prince's Gate Archway
Q: Why does the Prince's Gate Arch have to come down now?
The arch is structurally deteriorated and poses a health and safety risk in high winds, so dismantling is the safest option while options for replacement or storage are explored.
Jason Miles: NZ Principals Federation President on David Seymour's idea to ban under-16s from having smartphones
Q: What is your experience of kids at school? Has the cell phone ban been helpful for teachers and principals and kids now that it's working and in place?
Overall yes; schools that already had bans found it easier to adapt when government rules came in, and others followed the government decision, with the general sentiment that fewer phones improve interaction and focus, though old concerns about social dynamics and safety persist.
