为了看清细胞内的物质，科学家们将目标分子标记上荧光分子。在特定激发光的照射下，这些分子发出荧光，从而“点亮”所要观察的对象。荧光蛋白(FP)的发现，因此荣获2008年诺贝尔化学奖。
