More stories like this please! So cool William Dalrymple contributed. Thank you
loved it, wish it was so much longer
This is the perfect combination of mystery and heartbreak. I listened even though I’d read this feature in the NYT some years ago so I was fairly certain how it would end. Hearing the Prince’s voice infused the story with even more humanity and empathic pull.
Such an intriguing story and spun so beautifully by Ellen with such heart and gentle honesty.
Has to be one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to for ages..
Could almost feel the sense of place from jungle to Yorkshire. Amazing work.
Agree with other comments re this being very surface level and skipping key facts/background. Also found it shocking to hear a NYT journalist admit she kissed her subject on the cheek…surely this doesn’t align with whatever journalistic ethics and standards the NYT purports to follow.
