黃春明出生於宜蘭羅東，曾擔任國小教師、記者、廣告企畫、電視製作、編劇、電影導演、兒童劇團編導等工作，創作橫跨小說、散文、詩、兒童文學、戲劇、撕畫與油畫等多元領域。1994 年創立「黃大魚兒童劇團」，巡迴全臺演出寓教於樂的兒童劇；2005 年創辦宜蘭文學雜誌《九彎十八拐》，持續深耕臺灣文學與在地文化。

白先勇，1937 年出生於廣西桂林，畢業於國立臺灣大學外文系，後赴美取得愛荷華大學「作家工作坊」文學創作碩士學位。他身兼小說家、散文家、評論家與戲劇家等多重身分，二十出頭便與臺大同學共同創辦深具影響力的《現代文學》雜誌，對臺灣現代文學的發展貢獻卓著。
