Episode 76: Evolocumab's Impact on Coronary Physiology and Microstructure in De Novo Heart Transplant Recipients
Q: Where do you think we go from here?
Future directions may include non-invasive surveillance techniques and exploring disease-modifying therapies for CAV.
Episode 76: Evolocumab's Impact on Coronary Physiology and Microstructure in De Novo Heart Transplant Recipients
Q: Do you think the benefit to statins is through a different mechanism?
Yes, statins improve lipidemia, reduce the incidence of CAV, and improve outcomes through anti-inflammatory effects, beyond just lowering LDL.
Episode 76: Evolocumab's Impact on Coronary Physiology and Microstructure in De Novo Heart Transplant Recipients
Q: Why did you want to conduct this study and how does it add to gaps in current knowledge?
The study aimed to investigate early changes in coronary physiology and microstructure in heart transplant patients, identifying potential indicators of graft vascularopathy.
Episode 74: Outcomes for CTEPH patients with High Antiphospholipid Antibodies after Pulmonary Endarterectomy
Q: Could you share the main results of your study?
Among the 1,300 PA patients studied, 4% had APS and one third had high antibody titers; interestingly, there were no deaths in the APS group despite higher incidence of delirium and seizures.
Episode 74: Outcomes for CTEPH patients with High Antiphospholipid Antibodies after Pulmonary Endarterectomy
Q: What prompted you to perform your study?
We wanted to know if patients with high antiphospholipid antibody titers could safely benefit from surgery in the same way as others, as prior studies had limited data on these patients.
