Reviews

4.7 out of 5 stars from 114 ratings
  • Decent once they get down to business

I like how they interact with each other and have their own opinions when they discuss sports. But they take so long to get to the actual sports talk. The best thing about this podcast is that you can skip through all nonsense. It should be about sports, not their personal lives, opinions on nonsports things, etc

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

7AM: Should the Packers Be More Like the Rams?
Q: Does Josh Sweat move the needle for you for the Packers?
Yes, Sweat would provide a proven edge presence to complement Parsons and help cover for early-season absences, though the compensation and fit must be right.
7AM: Packers Bet on Christian Watson's Future
Q: Jason Wilde, what do you think about the Watson deal in terms of value and structure?
Wilde suggests it's a reasonable deal given Watson's upside and health history, noting the guarantees and roster bonuses are structured to protect the team while providing Watson security; he also compares it to Alec Pierce's contract to gauge the market.
7AM: How Long Will the Packers Wait for Parsons?
Q: When do you expect Micah Parsons to return to football?
Based on the nine-month rule and Parsons' own comments, the return is unlikely before late September with a plausible first return game around the Bears or Cowboys matchups in October, assuming medical clearance and conditioning align.
7AM: Packers Await More on Josh Jacobs Situation
Q: What could trigger a Commissioner's Exempt List placement for a player like Josh Jacobs?
Any case where the league and team determine there is a need to pause a player's participation due to ongoing legal proceedings and due process, with pay sometimes continuing depending on the policy specifics; the decision hinges on the evidence and how the case evolves.
7AM: Brewers Own the Cubs Again
Q: Could there be a future where all teams play an international game, and what are the implications for expansion and compensation?
Schefter notes that while not all teams may routinely play internationally right away, the league is moving toward broader international play as part of the 18-game framework and potential growth, while acknowledging potential disruptions and cost considerations for players and teams.
