  • A lifeline for this insane era

This podcast is one of the only things keeping me sane and offering a shred of hope in this abysmally cruel, shameless, greed-driven era. Thank you Ilana for putting words to the near-paralyzing cognitive dissonance we have to navigate every day as humans who still want to believe the things we tell our children: kindness matters. Everyone deserves safety. Sharing is caring. This world is bursting with beauty, and it’s our job to protect it.

  • Can we produce the audio a little louder?

Love Llana, love the podcast. Just wondering if anyone else on here has noticed having to listen to the pod on full volume? Sometimes when I’m driving full volume isn’t enough :( Other shows are fine. Hope this is useful feedback xoxo Ava

Reshma Saujani
Q: How have you used your platform to advance practical tools for families?
She explains Moms First's development of PayLeave.ai, a tool to help individuals determine eligibility for paid leave, illustrating how AI can translate policy into usable assistance for everyday families.
Jacob Tierney
Q: What was your pathway from child actor to writer-director?
I kept acting early, then shifted to writing and directing when the right opportunities appeared, including working on The 11th Hour and later The Trotsky, which led to bigger directing gigs and eventually Letterkenny.
Jacob Tierney
Q: Being that you didn't go to school, how did you learn to write?
I just read a lot and absorbed scripts, which trained me to write; I learned by consuming thousands of scripts and studying structure.
Ben McKenzie
Q: For someone who doesn't know at all, can you just lay out what crypto is and why it is a scam?
Crypto started as a digital ledger technology with aims of direct person-to-person value transfer, but its value and legitimacy have been warped by speculative behavior, dark-web associations, and a lack of accountability, leading to a cycle where most users lose money while a small group profits.
Zoe Lister-Jones
Q: How did you come up with Slip and what inspired its themes?
Zoe describes Slip as a natural evolution from Band-Aid, rooted in sexual empowerment and world-building through a female-centered lens, and discusses the process of writing seven episodes during the pandemic, directing, and casting choices.
