Listening to this trio is getting me through my COVID era. It’s rare to find such informed, thoughtful, socially just folks who share an irreverent and silly sense of humor.
The podcast is like being part of a group chat where you are laughing and learning — like a socialist Sesame Street for Adults vibe.
Even if they do butcher English place names (shire at the end of a place name is pronounced shear like what one does to a sheep), they thoughtfully discuss many issues on the left in an informative and educational way.
interesting news coverage, great analysis, funny but not in that overly “edgy” way. wholesome but still has good bite. multiple leftist perspectives, nonsectarian. the whole crew is lovely and the conversation dynamic is always enjoyable and entertaining. I don’t live in Troy or even NY, but this is one of my favorite pods. David, Britney, and Chris are all super smart, cool, insightful, and fun. you’ll wish you were there chatting over beers.
The hosts have different leftist views and often challenge the opinions of one another. Making for some of the best commentary you can find on the left. This alone makes the podcast worth five stars and worth a listen even if Troy, NY is a place you never new about till you heard this podcast.
The choice to not constantly cover breaking news along with the candid style make every episode worth a listen no matter how old.
So will this podcast change your life after listening? Well obviously yes... more
Can’t quite find one singular label to apply to this podcast, which is one of the reasons I love it.
Leftist political analysis of our current moment, ranging from national stories to local politics through the lens of Troy, NY.
An eclectic mix of contemporary stories with some futuristic, sci-fi, artistic, conspiratorial potpourri.
There are also some fascinating historical and cultural deep dives.
Lots of good humor and a refreshing lack of smugness and snark.
Key themes from listener reviews, highlighting what works and what could be improved about the show.

A sharp, left-leaning discussion show that blends political analysis with humor and tech critique. Episodes frequently tackle capitalism, surveillance, local governance, and national/global affairs through a radical, anti-establishment lens, often weaving in pop culture riffs and dark satire. The hosts' conversations span from local Troy, NY politics to broader debates on AI, media narratives, and labor issues, delivering thoughtful takes with a biting, irreverent style that both informs and entertains. Noteworthy is a consistent tying of everyday experiences to systemic critique, plus a collaborative banter that keeps complex topics accessible and engaging for listeners seeking principled, socially conscious commentary.
