  • Jim Rossow

This show would be much better if Rossow wasn’t so annoying with his weird humor. Let Scott do his job and give the audience the Illini hoops talk we want. Shut your stupid mouth Jim!

  • Great content. Low enthusiasm/energy

I absolutely love Illinois athletics and will try to absorb as much content as possible no matter the source. I’ve tried listening a few times but even after big wins/news it’s hard to be excited with their lack of energy.

I quickly lose interest in their soft spoken tone. Their content is awesome and they do a good job organizing but it’s very difficult to want to keep listening if there’s not going to be a lot of energy.

  • Good Source for Illini Coverage

Some good Illini coverage If you can put up with Jim Rossow‘s constant annoying sarcasm. Not sure why Scott Rickey doesn’t just punch his lights out.

  • Insightful and Funny; must listen for Illini Basketball

Scott Richey is the goods - he's a great Illini basketball beat writer, in a long line of talent (Dawson, Klee, etc). Jim succeeds at adding some humor. A good albeit short show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 410: End of summer quiz
Q: True or false, Illinois wins it all this season?
Two titles seems most plausible in Scott's view, with one regular-season title and another potential championship depending on tournament performance, though the 76-team field changes the dynamic.
Episode 410: End of summer quiz
Q: True or false, Brad Underwood goes with a 10-man rotation this season?
False. While it's plausible given roster depth, Scott notes he's not typically used a 10-man rotation and expects a more traditional lineup distribution.
Episode 410: End of summer quiz
Q: True or false, Illinois will never miss the NCAA tournament again?
False. While the schedule landscape could shift with a larger field, Scott suggests that Illinois has been consistently strong and could remain near the top of the league, though nothing is guaranteed.
Episode 410: End of summer quiz
Q: True or false, Quentin Coleman is next year's team MVP?
False. While he has potential, Scott argues that another player like Davin Markovich currently has the inside track, and the MVP race looks competitive.
Episode 410: End of summer quiz
Q: True or false? Are the Los Angeles Clippers contemplating an exhibition game at State Farm Center?
False. Scott explains that current NBA investigations and other priorities would prevent such an exhibition; the projection leans toward them not playing in Champaign.
