Ambulansen svinga ut av Gol sentrum med blålys og sirener då Maria Sigurdardottir skulle føde sitt andre barn i oktober 2024. Alt då skjønte ho at vegen til sjukehuset kom til å bli for lang.

I 2018 fødde Viola Valstad frå Ål sitt tredje barn. Frå ho vakna den natta og til barnet var ute gjekk det ganske nøyaktig éin time. Då er det vanskeleg å rekke fram til fødeavdelinga i tide. Ikkje minst er det godt å ha ei jordmor i nærleiken.
