At first I didn’t think I’d like this but I gave it a fair chance. Then I started to wonder - is this real, and just presented as a podcast? The more you listen, the more it pulls you in. I’ve listened to hundreds of podcasts, and How It Ends, and We’re Alive are the only shows I stop my other podcasts to listen to when a new episode drops. 10/10
So long and NO pay off. too much filler
Production and overall storyline are good. However, the characters, and especially the main character, are really hard to listen to. Sounds like the actor made a choice to do this improv-ey thing to make it more realistic, adding lots of anxious gibberish and reacting way too strongly to things. Think like…a bad 2010s Kristen Stewart impression x100.
This slowest of slow burns is full of feelings and emotions. But it's also full of suspense and excitement. That juxtoposition makes for a compelling listen, and their take on the podcast-within-a-podcast framing device plays well to my geekier side. Settle in and enjoy!
The main character is an extremely self centered person. She operates and interacts with others as if she is the star of a show when all she really is - is a walk-on part in somebody else’s play. We all are. She is not special nor is she unique in the slightest but she doesn’t know that yet.
It’s unrealistic to expect that someone like this main character would have friends like the ones in this show.
She is an extremely unlikable person.
