Interesting people doing interesting things is a perfect description! As a sustainability professional with plenty of hospitality clients, love that this podcast highlights so many diverse industry members! From the more recent episodes I’d recommend tuning into how art drives revenue and lead with listening. I’ve never seen another podcast churn out this much content, and it’s a great mix of shorter bingeable episodes and longer in depth interviews! -Astrapto

The Soul Community Planet Playbook for Performance and Purpose - Pam & Ken Cruse, SCP Hotels
Q: What have been the biggest challenges and missteps, and how have you iterated to overcome them?
Ken candidly shares that pushing for perfection too quickly caused internal friction and guest pushback, and the couple emphasizes incremental changes and a philosophy of continual improvement rather than absolute perfection.
The Soul Community Planet Playbook for Performance and Purpose - Pam & Ken Cruse, SCP Hotels
Q: What makes your model scalable given the boutique, nature-driven focus?
Ken discusses vertical integration—brand, management, and real estate under one umbrella—which enables quick adaptation, preserves culture, and maintains control over economics, letting them grow without diluting their mission.
The Soul Community Planet Playbook for Performance and Purpose - Pam & Ken Cruse, SCP Hotels
Q: Tell me more about the guest journey and how you translate philosophy into everyday guest touchpoints.
Pam explains that SCP aims to greet guests like arriving at a home, with intentional rituals, a welcoming atmosphere, and unconscious programming that reinforces the brand's core values through simple, tangible touches like libraries, games, and shared experiences.
Pick Your Boss (And Other Career Advice) - Burak Ipekci
Q: How do you choose a good boss?
The right boss stands out through candor, generosity, and a willingness to share knowledge, as a good boss can make or break a career by mentoring openly rather than guarding information.
The Concierge Mindset - Burak Ipekci
Q: What sets the tone in a hotel, and how does the human element interact with technology?
The tone is set by genuine human connection. Guests judge hospitality by how comfortable, homey, and approachable the team feels, not by the sophistication of technology; authentic presence and organic relationships matter far more.
