Interesting people doing interesting things is a perfect description! As a sustainability professional with plenty of hospitality clients, love that this podcast highlights so many diverse industry members! From the more recent episodes I’d recommend tuning into how art drives revenue and lead with listening. I’ve never seen another podcast churn out this much content, and it’s a great mix of shorter bingeable episodes and longer in depth interviews! -Astrapto

Listening to Yourself: A Hotel CEO on the Setback That Reset Her Leadership - Lily Wecker, Aethos
Q: You're an alumnus of Mackenzie, right? And BCG, which is both Mackenzie, probably more so than BCG a lot. How much did you have to unlearn from your past to build something as free-spirited in a way, as Aethos?
I think my analytical side is still very much alive, and that background helps me connect the dots between experiences in private equity, investment, and hospitality, while I've learned to apply that analysis in service of a bigger mission for Aethos.
Why We Break the Rules to Deliver a Feeling - Lily Wecker, Aethos
Q: Can you share a concrete example of a rule you chose to break in practice?
A hotel in Umbria intentionally lacks televisions in guest rooms to encourage guests to engage with each other and the surroundings, showing how disruption of standard amenities can enhance the social fabric of a stay.
Why We Break the Rules to Deliver a Feeling - Lily Wecker, Aethos
Q: What rules have you felt needed breaking at Aethos, beyond the obvious?
The team aims to move away from rigid SOPs and instead emphasizes curiosity, listening to guests, and adapting services to local context—breaking rules when it serves the guest experience, not for rule-breaking's sake.
The PMS Wars: AI Changes the Interface, Not the Foundation - Martin Soler
Q: What makes AI integration possible in PMS today, and what are the prerequisites?
AI integration hinges on having a solid, well-segmented data construct and a cloud-based PMS foundation, because AI can only reliably function when it can access real-time data across a unified, structured system rather than scattered local databases.
The PMS Wars: AI Changes the Interface, Not the Foundation - Martin Soler
Q: Can you tell us how the PMS Wars began and what prompted the cloud shift in hospitality tech?
The shift began when cloud adoption started to look mainstream, driven by major players entering the space; Oracle Cloud's release in the PMS market signaled that cloud was now the default path, pushing other hotels to consider moving away from on-prem systems.
