Surface level analysis + poor research + endless talking in circles = migraine
I really wanted to like this podcast and I listened to about 5 episodes, but couldn’t take all the lame virtue signaling. Many horror podcasts are so in love with themselves that it takes forever to wade through the adorable banter to get to the good stuff. Nicole and Topher are adorable, but never cloying, and it never hinders them from delivering a content-rich podcast, with a smart point of view.
As someone who likes horror, but doesn’t really have a bunch of friends who are also into it, this podcast is perfect 🙏🏾 I started today, and I’m already through 4 episodes. The descriptions are good enough that I still understand the analysis even without having watched the movie, and the commentary is so good that I still want to watch the movie anyway now that I know what’s going to happen. Bravo
For all their talk about diversity and police reform, isn’t it ironic that they haven’t covered a single black horror film? And I don’t mean Get Out or Us. Also, the guy loves to hear himself talk and often talks over his cohost.
