  • Great for homeschooling parents!

As a mom who has been thinking about homeschooling her kids, this podcast has been such a joy to listen to. Even though I recently found Elan, I feel as though we're chatting it up at the park while our kids are playing. -I know, weird!- but it really does feel like that. Episode 75 was really helpful in that the topic not only encouraged me, but also gave me something to think about especially when she brought kid's learning style. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

129: You Have More Education Options Than You Think, with Jay Artis-Wright
Q: Can you describe microschools and how they differ from traditional schooling or homeschooling?
A microschool is a small, customizable setting (typically under 20 students) that combines home-centered personalization with school-like structure, led by educators and sometimes parents, offering flexible locations and extended, targeted instruction.
129: You Have More Education Options Than You Think, with Jay Artis-Wright
Q: What are you seeing in terms of homeschooling and hybrid models gaining steam, and why are they appealing?
There is a growing perception that education should be customizable and regionally flexible; ESAs enable families to mix homeschool, microschools, and traditional settings, creating a continuum that fits each child's learning pace and cultural context.
129: You Have More Education Options Than You Think, with Jay Artis-Wright
Q: What advice would you give to parents in terms of making their education choices?
Parents should start with a clear assessment of safety, values, and the needs of each child, then research options, seek peer reviews, and understand the local policy and funding mechanisms; be proactive in communicating with teachers and school boards to advocate for the child.
128: What a Clear Homeschool Vision Can Make Possible, with Tammy Gordon
Q: How do you balance work, travel, and teaching your son?
She describes a shared parent dynamic where education is co-led: mom handles most subjects while dad handles math, with a flexible schedule, time-zone adjustments, and a focus on keeping family life cohesive through world schooling and a supportive learning hub.
128: What a Clear Homeschool Vision Can Make Possible, with Tammy Gordon
Q: What helped you overcome initial fears about homeschooling?
Tammy credits the Homeschool Blueprint course and Elan's ongoing guidance as a major confidence boost. Seeing other women of color successfully homeschool and having a practical, repeatable template for daily routines made the concept feel achievable and less scary.
