I’d been putting off listening because the team is such garbage but it’s good.

  • Two solid viewpoints

Nice to hear Mike Digi hosting his own podcast. I miss his insightful coverage of the Angels (and Dodgers). Always well written with a touch of humor.

Mike Trumbo adds the player perspective which is a plus

  • Love the show

Love the show and it’s incredible to hear these two discuss everything Angels.

My only critique: The posting of episodes has been tough. One episode was posted twice and the most recent episode is titled “Part 2” with no part one having been posted. We seem to join mid-conversation with no context on what has happened before.

I think once that gets worked out this will be a smooth running ship!

PS - I was at Mark Trumbo’s MLB debut and have the scorebook to prove it!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

PICKING UP THE PIECES: Could 2018 Orioles provide a road map for rebuilding Angels? Jim Palmer joins
Q: What was the atmosphere like inside the Orioles organization during the 2018 rebuild period?
Palmer describes a fan base that remained hopeful despite losing, notes that the organization traded major pieces to retool, and emphasizes that the rebuilding process requires patience and a clear long‑term plan.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION: It wasn't a full tear-down, but the Angels have embarked on major rebuild
Q: What was the rationale behind not trading Detmers and Neto?
Mo explained that the decision was driven by a value equation rather than simply moving players; they valued keeping certain core pieces for the rebuild and anticipated a stronger package later, while still pursuing meaningful improvements.
MORE IN THE TANK? Nolan Schanuel looks to add power without sacrificing contact and average
Q: What has Jo Adell done to improve this season?
He simplified his swing, narrowed his head movement, focused on a tighter two-strike approach, and aimed for better contact, which has led to a productive surge.
MORE IN THE TANK? Nolan Schanuel looks to add power without sacrificing contact and average
Q: How does Nolan plan to generate more power without sacrificing contact?
He envisions a measured offseason approach, potentially overload/underload bat work and using data to build bat speed while maintaining effective contact; the goal is to find a balance rather than swing-breaking adjustments.
MORE IN THE TANK? Nolan Schanuel looks to add power without sacrificing contact and average
Q: What does Nolan mean when he says he got the direction right in his swing?
He means using the whole field more effectively, keeping balance, and avoiding overhauling his swing—returning to fundamentals that let him drive the ball to all fields and take advantage of improved balance.
