So look…Jeff & Richie seem like perfectly nice, cute, white gays who love theatre & want to talk about it. Show reviews are one thing…anyone can have opinions about shows…but when they try to dive deeper into the “business of B’way”, discussing grosses & what not, they sound very amateur. These are clearly not people who work in the actual industry of Broadway & their takes on the business are strictly for folks who don’t know any better. They may as well collab with Andres LaFrazia on YouTub... more
I really enjoy this show! The hosts have a lot of knowledge about theater, and their thoughts and comments give me something to think about. I appreciate that they’re respectful of the creative people who make theater, even when they have a critique. They delve into the plots of the shows they see, so listeners should be aware there can be spoilers.
In a world where it seems as if everyone has a podcast or channel, Half Hour Podcast is outstanding in the field! Each episode is well paced, well-constructed, engaging, informative and very enjoyable. I only came across their show recently, but binged every installment for this year’s Broadway series and found it completely enriching.
Their genuine love and knowledge when speaking about productions is admirable; even when discussing a work they didn’t necessarily enjoy their points and concer... more
Jeff & Richie are the fun, conversational, relatable guys you want to go for a drink with after a show and talk about everything you liked or didn’t like, what worked and what didn’t. I always look forward to their takes.

They acknowledge the scenic teams, but then actively put down costumes by stating that “no one sees a show for the costumes”. Then they express the pleasure with the tricks in Death Becomes Her which were almost exclusively costume related! Even in a show with minimal set (Sunset Blvd) the performers still have to wear clothes! Those... more
