  • Thank you for exposing the horrors of polygamy

I grew up in the Episcopal Church, so I was unaware of the existence of sects like the Mormon Church and the FLDS, but I’m a very curious woman, and I’ve learned a lot about other less liberal sects of Christianity over the years! The things that I’ve discovered are very disturbing at times, and those things have made me glad that I don’t believe, and that i didn’t have to deal with the kinds of things that the two of you have!

Q: Were there things in this book that you didn't want to put in that you felt uncomfortable talking about?
Yes, it was very hard to get vulnerable and deciding what to include was challenging. Still, I aimed to resonate with others facing similar struggles.
Christine Brown Woolley on Growing Up in Polygamy & Her New Book Sister Wife
Q: Do you think it's easier to speak out about these things now that your kids are at an age where maybe they can understand more?
Yes and no; writing the book exposed details my children might not want to know. I have to be open for discussions when they are ready.
Christine Brown Woolley on Growing Up in Polygamy & Her New Book Sister Wife
Q: What made you decide to write a book and then to write one that was so vulnerable that did show behind the curtain?
I felt silenced for years and it was time for the rest of the story to be told, which included vulnerabilities that people deserved to know.
Wolves Among Us: Spotting Predators Who Blend Into Everyday Life w/ Mike King from Profiling Evil
Q: What are some signs that I can look for in someone who might be a wolf in sheep's clothing?
Transparency is key. If someone is not willing to share openly about their intentions or activities, it can be a red flag.
Wolves Among Us: Spotting Predators Who Blend Into Everyday Life w/ Mike King from Profiling Evil
Q: What made you decide to write this book?
I wanted to provide insights into how cults operate and how people can be manipulated by leaders who are like wolves in sheep's clothing.
