  • Audio not great

I love the content. Thank you. However, Jim is very hard to hear. Evan and the guests are clear but Jim is not. Other than this one issue, it’s a 5 star podcast.

  • Take Jim’s paper bag away

Jim is my single favorite financial journalist in written form but for some reason it sounds like he is talking in a paper bag on this podcast

  • MOAR treble please!

Content excellent. Audio - impossible to listen to in a car. TOO MUCH BASS. I'm going to be buzz-vibrating my windows if I listen to it loud enough to hear what they are saying over all the bass.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

REALLY GOOD BREAKS
Q: How do investors get long volatility? Is this something they could do passive or do they require a manager like you?
Investors can benefit from volatility as an asset class but it requires active management and expertise rather than passive investment.
REALLY GOOD BREAKS
Q: David, where is volatility the cheapest today? And where is it the most expensive?
The place that's been cheap has been FX volatility, particularly around Europe. It was extraordinary cheap, especially for Euro, sterling, and other related markets.
BUTTONED-UP BORROWERS
Q: Tell us about your credit experience, Keri. How many loans go bad out of how many, out of a percentage of how many you make?
We expect about a third, but we don't expect to lose money on those third.
BUTTONED-UP BORROWERS
Q: Keri, is this a good idea for the guy who's sitting at home and he wants to bet?
It's actually used most by people who don't want to tell their wives.
THE BUSINESS OF INCOME
Q: What is an investor to do with this information?
Investors should reevaluate asset allocations based on risk and return characteristics informed by cash returns, as interest rates are not expected to return to zero.
