Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 21 ratings
  • The audio is mixed WAY TOO QUIET in recent episodes so the ads boom on my speakers and headphones

  • Thoughtful folks tackling more complex topics

Has quickly become one of my favorite commander podcasts because it is a group of thoughtful folks with different perspectives. I like that they rotate who is on the show and cover topics more broadly than some of the other EDH podcasts. I also like it isn’t just like Top Ten this or meta that. And wade into more grey and complex topics where the different perspectives are more valuable

New Commander Bans and UNBANS?! - Good Time Boys Ep 40
Q: How do you feel about a separate ban list for CDH?
The conversation suggests that a separate ban list for CDH could be beneficial, yet emphasizes the need for retaining some identity to CDH within the greater Commander landscape.
The Best Lorwyn Eclipsed Cards - GoodTimeBoys Ep 37
Q: With so many mixed reactions to the release schedule the past two years, what would your guys' 2026 release schedule look like?
The preferred schedule leaned towards 6 sets per year, possibly including 5 within sets and 1 universe beyond, but there was agreement that some variation on this could be beneficial depending on the sets released.
What to Expect at Magic Cons and Command Fests - Bad Time Girlies Take Over - Good Time Boys Ep 22
Q: What is each of your favorite Pokemon?
MTG Nerd Girl loves Cinder Quill, while Bells prefers Honedge, as he enjoys his prankster nature.
House Rules In Commander - GoodTimeBoys Ep 15
Q: How do you feel about the argument "best removal is player removal"?
While player removal can be effective, it often leaves you vulnerable to other players building up defenses and can lead to losing overall games.
The Most Popular Archetypes Commander - GoodTimeBoys Ep 10
Q: How do I convince my opponents not to hit me with hammers as an aggro deck?
The host suggests you need to accept that being an aggro deck will naturally draw attention and threats from opponents. Communicating your strategy at the table can help alleviate some of this, or you can play reactively and hold back until others have committed.
