  • Not for me

I like the content. Like the guests. I find the host to be almost unlistenable. Interjects and interrupts. He’s smug and seems arrogant.

  • How many adverts?

Fast forwarded over the first couple and with 3 minutes had another. Stopped right there. Pity as subject sounded interesting

  • Too many ads.

The amount of ads is a bit extreme. Just found the podcast and played the first episode. First 6 mins were commercials and after 30 minutes there have been and additional for 3 lengthy ad segments. If you want to keep fast forwarding every few minutes, maybe it’ll be worthwhile for you.

  • Full of Adverts.

I tried the latest podcast but gave up after about 15 minutes because there seemed to be more adverts than content. A shame because the content sounded as if it might get interesting but the interviewee was interrupted by ads so often that there was no flow.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Understanding the Golf Club's Impact on a Successful Swing with Ed LeBeau
Q: How do you teach beginners about balance and direction?
The method starts with putting and chipping to establish the feel of swinging the whole club, then moves to ensuring neutral grip and balanced setup; drills like keeping a tee in the butt of the club to ensure the hands aren't driving the motion help players feel that they should swing the club, not just the hands, toward the target.
Understanding the Golf Club's Impact on a Successful Swing with Ed LeBeau
Q: What does it mean to swing the club as opposed to hitting the ball?
The host and Ed discuss that swinging involves the club moving in a controlled circular path, delivering the entire tool square to the ball; hitting is a separate, more force-driven action that often leads to inconsistent results, whereas a full-club swing aligns the club face and direction with the target.
Understanding the Golf Club's Impact on a Successful Swing with Ed LeBeau
Q: Tell me about who Ernest Jones was and how he developed the method.
Ed LeBeau explains that Ernest Jones started as a caddy and club repairman who, after a serious injury in World War I, focused on how the golf club, not the body, could control the ball; Jones demonstrated with simple tools and later taught indoors with a rubber mat and a canvas tarp, emphasizing moving the whole club and using external cues to make the brain plan the correct muscular actions.
How to Swing Like Ben Hogan with Tom Bertrand
Q: What should a mid-to-high handicapper focus on to Hogan-mold their swing?
Prioritize a steady base with the legs, keep arms close together, maintain a centered head, and learn to turn the hips through the hitting area to promote a fluid release rather than overusing the hands.
The Evolution of Arnold Palmer with Bill Fields
Q: Was there a period when Palmer was at his peak and what defined that phase?
The guest points to Palmer's mid-60s era, with strong ball striking and the famous finishing style, as a peak period, while noting his durability and willingness to work despite the era's tougher equipment and competition.
