I was hoping for a great analysis, but the surface-level analysis and random giggles at nothing are insufferable. Pass.
Listen to a couple of podcasts. Thought it would get better. The hosts really don’t know a lot of film history. The one female contributor is so obnoxious. I really don’t care about your personal life. And please, either get a good nights sleep or have some coffee before you start recording. Your yawning throughout the podcast is so unsettling.
It’s really too bad because it could be a great Oscar podcast.
Note to the owner of the podcast. Get new contributors. Your current team is terrible. ... more
The show is pretty fun and a great way to rediscover the classics that made cinema great by relaxing and smiling at the jokes of the hosts.
It’s an epic journey to watch every Best Picture winner (I’ve done it). Every cinephile and Oscar lover should. In no way should a podcast be longer than the actual movie being reviewed (unless you’re watching it in real time).
In a nutshell, Nik loves every single movie, Rachel takes way too long to develop her thoughts, and Xan knows her stuff.
Great show. It made me reconsider watching some great old movies and made me enjoy them much more.
