Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP 159 - Concert Classics: Nassau Coliseum - Uniondale, NY (December 11, 1977)
Q: How did Tom Hnatow approach the concert from a production perspective?
Tom emphasized the live-sound dynamics, such as how the Moog/synth textures were used to punch through the arena and how the band navigated the balance between the new material and established hits, with a focus on the interplay between piano and synth.
EP 159 - Concert Classics: Nassau Coliseum - Uniondale, NY (December 11, 1977)
Q: What made this Nassau Coliseum show stand out in the Stranger Tour?
It showcased how Billy Joel's live band began blending arena-scale arrangements with tighter, more orchestrated passages, while still allowing room for jazz-influenced improvisation, especially in Liberty DeVitto's drumming and Rich Cannata's sax/organ textures.
EP 146 - Behind Billy Joel: And So It Goes - Part 4 (with Music Mixer Brad Leigh)
Q: Thank you for joining us once again. When were you first approached about the documentary?
I was approached about it very early on, I think it was about three years ago.
EP 142 - In Conversation with Jon Small (Longtime Billy Joel collaborator)
Q: How has filming changed with the different medium choices between film, video, and digital?
Film was always the better way to do it, only because it looks better. I never really shot video, I only shot one, actually my first three were in video.
EP 142 - In Conversation with Jon Small (Longtime Billy Joel collaborator)
Q: Was it like a head session where they were putting it together on the fly?
Billy wrote most of the song, but they put their names first. Billy wasn't really happy about it.
