  • Glad to finally be on board!…

I’ve been curious about this show for months b/c it always comes up on searches with the most amazing guests. But, it always seemed maybe a little too intelligent and high brow for me, but after seeing The Wire (and Kolchak) coverage, I had to check it out. Very accessible and super informative. Host is cool and not self-important at all .

The Twentieth Century (2019)
Q: What is the most surprising thing you learned about Mackenzie King while making the movie?
The most surprising aspect was how differently the film interpreted the classical impression of Mackenzie King; it focused less on ectoplasm and seances and more on the emotional and political life, which altered the audience's understanding in a meaningful way.
Moonstalker (1988)
Q: What were the main challenges around distribution and publicity?
The main challenge was getting publicist and distribution help; without strong promotion, even a solid film struggled to find an audience, and payments for crew were not guaranteed.
Moonstalker (1988)
Q: How long did the film take to shoot, and how was it organized?
It was shot in six to eight weeks, with continuous shooting back‑to‑back, storyboarded and well organized, which helped manage a tight budget and schedule.
The Captain's Collection: Bonus Interviews (2014)
Q: Did you know the casting director?
Sally Kellerman answers she didn't know how she got cast and learned only later, implying the casting process was surprising and somewhat opaque.
Chaos on the Bridge (2014)
Q: What happened during the early casting and development phase?
The early phase involved extensive casting deliberations, including the pivotal choice of Patrick Stewart as Captain, with producers and Gene Roddenberry negotiating to balance the show's vision with practical constraints like budget, schedule, and studio demands.
