15世紀印加帝國在第九個印加王Pachacutequ登基後，國力如日中天，他以尊崇太陽神樹立起印加王的權威，更甚者每年的冬至舉辦太陽神祭。
南半球的冬至，6月21日，也是在印地安古老曆法中，新的一年的初始，意味著太陽神重生，開始一個新的年度週期，那一天太陽離地球最遠的日子，印加人民透過虔誠向太陽禮拜的祭典儀式，太陽就不會遠離人間，更會在新的一年眷顧這片土地及他的子民

神聖的圖騰，不僅僅是印加文化、同時幾乎是整個南美洲安地斯山脈區域古文明的象徵，包括了印加帝國涵蓋之所在，從哥倫比亞南部、厄瓜多、秘魯、玻利維亞西部、智利到阿根廷，可以說是南美洲一個共通的神聖圖騰，Chakana大量出現在南美安地斯高原上各式石造、土坯建築上、岩壁上的壁畫、岩石雕刻、紡織品上反覆出現的圖樣、陶器、瓷器、雕塑作品也都經常出現，更是很多安地斯山脈區域城鎮的市徽、旗幟的重要圖案。

在祕魯首都Lima有一間小而精美、環境優美、典藏非常豐富的Larco Museum 拉科博物館。從這裡我們一窺祕魯千年歷史。
祕魯並不是只有我們知道的印加文明，印加跟祕魯其他文明來說，已經相當晚近，印加帝國真正蓬勃發展起來，真正崛起稱霸南美已經是15世紀左右，距離西班牙人於1532年入侵殖民，才不過100年間之久。
而千年文化之久的祕魯，擁有其他更為古老的古文明，今天這一集將一一介紹給大家認識
