1980年的2月28日，民主運動人士林義雄先生的母親與兩名年幼雙的胞胎女兒，
在林義雄因美麗島事件遭羈押期間於住家中被殺害。為臺灣戒嚴時期最震驚社會的政治命案之一
由於案件發生在高度政治對立的背景下，社會普遍質疑其具有政治動機，但兇手至今仍未被查出
此事件對臺灣民主運動與後續轉型正義的討論產生深遠的影響
這起懸案後來成為臺灣電影《世紀血案》的題材，但因拍攝過程未取得林義雄及其家屬授權，
加上部分演員在記者會上的不當發言，引發社會廣泛反彈與抵制。
