  • Gear Gossip 🔥

There’s a ton of great episodes, but if this isn’t top 5 for the hilarious outrage targeting alone I’ll ride the magic carpet all season.

Now i need a pair of Commies…and maybe some Wildcats for Wildcat. Keep up the good work

  • Hypocrites

Content not bad but just flat out hypocritical when it comes to the environment! These people always talk about the climate and sustainability but they jet set around the globe, laying a huge carbon footprint!

But always telling us how we have to sacrifice to save the planet

  • Not excited to say this.

Have listened to almost every episode since 2019 and this show’s turned into an uninspired glaze fest with hosts whose success has done a number on their egos. Sorry to have to say it.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Debate: Should We Change Our Winter Buyer’s Guide?
Q: What changes are you considering for the future of the Buyer's Guide, and how would a digital-only format affect those ideas?
A digital-only format would allow more space for features, more spectrums per category, expanded apparel and accessory sections, and a more interactive user experience, while still maintaining core testing philosophy and audience-driven iteration through polls and feedback.
The Debate: Should We Change Our Winter Buyer’s Guide?
Q: What are the core principles that guide how you build the Winter Buyer's Guide today?
We don't take advertising money from brands we review, we emphasize direct testing on the mountain, and we prioritize accuracy and usefulness over chasing novelty, ensuring the guide remains a reliable, unbiased resource.
Hoji on the Future of Ski Gear; His Latest Projects; & More
Q: What role does 3D printing play in your boot and binding development?
3D printing lets Hoji prototype and test components quickly (buckle elements, straps) and collaborate with Formlabs to explore new materials, enabling real-world testing and faster iteration.
Hoji on the Future of Ski Gear; His Latest Projects; & More
Q: Can you explain the Hoji lock concept and why it might change how boots interact with bindings?
The Hoji lock idea centers on a cuff-shell interaction that provides a more direct, two-point connection above the boot's pivot, potentially delivering a more precise and efficient flex and improved stability without sacrificing the walk mode.
Hoji on the Future of Ski Gear; His Latest Projects; & More
Q: What counts as a hybrid binding, and where do you draw the line with this category?
Hoji argues that true hybrids should blend interfaces to preserve uphill function while delivering effective downhill performance, but many bindings currently marketed as hybrids still trade off weight, complexity, or feel in ways that don't meet that ideal.
