現代で「鬼」というと、人を襲う化け物や、地獄で亡者を痛めつける恐ろしい存在をイメージする人が多いかもしれません。しかし、古代インドの初期仏教における地獄（サンスクリット語で「ニラヤ」）には、もともと「鬼」という概念はありませんでした。

🔶築地本願寺の歴史と「築地」の地名の由来
東京都内には約2,800の寺院が存在しますが、浄土真宗本願寺派は338か寺にとどまります（熊本県の464か寺よりも少ない数です）。その中で中心的な拠点となっているのが、豊かな歴史とユニークな特徴を持つ「築地本願寺（つきじほんがんじ）」です。
