お寺の門前に必ずといっていいほど設置されている掲示板は、単なる行事案内（広報）以上の大切な役割を担っています。これらは「伝道掲示板（でんどうけいじばん）」と呼ばれ、明治時代、浄土宗がキリスト教の熱心な伝道活動に影響を受け、仏教の教えを広く一般に伝えるために始めたのがきっかけといわれています。門信徒のみならず、お寺の前を通りがかる人々の目にも留まるよう、仏教の智慧や心のあり方を短く、鋭い言葉で貼り出したのが、現代の形へと受け継がれました。

🔶降誕会の由来と激動の時代背景
5月21日は、浄土真宗の宗祖・親鸞聖人のご誕生をお祝いする「降誕会（ごうたんえ）」です。聖人は西暦1173年（承安3年）、京都の日野の里（現在の京都市伏見区）にて、日野有範（ひの ありのり）卿の長男としてお生まれになられました。当時は平安時代の末期、平家が栄華を極める一方で、大火災や大飢饉、疫病といった自然災害が次々と都を襲った「末法の世」とも呼べる激動の時代でした。

仏教には、世界中の仏教徒が共通して掲げる「仏旗（ぶっき）」という旗があります。これは1950年にスリランカで開催された「世界仏教徒連盟（WFB）」の第1回会議において、国際的な仏教の旗として正式に採択されました。お釈迦さまの教えを仰ぎ、仏道を歩む世界中の人々を一つに繋ぐ大切な旗印として、各国の寺院や法要の際などに掲げられています。

🔶現代教育の現実と子供たちの自己肯定感
現在、不登校の小中学生は約30万人を超え、過去最多を記録しています。これに伴い、日本の子供たちの自己肯定感は先進国の中でも最低水準にあるといわれており、「自分にいいところがある」と思えない子供が増えているのが現状です。学校教育に馴染めず、自分の殻に閉じこもってしまう。そうした子供たちの心の叫びに対し、現代の教育システムがどう応えていくかが大きな課題となっています。 more
