今週は「迷信」を取り上げます。なかでも話題に上がりやすい丙午（ひのえうま）と出生数の揺れ、その背景にある物語、そして仏教的な受け止め方を整理します。
🔶 丙午とは何か
十干（じっかん）と十二支（じゅうにし）の組み合わせでできる六十通り（六十干支）のうちの一つが丙午です。
六十年で一巡するため、干支が生年に戻る年を「還暦」と呼びます。

親鸞聖人の御正忌にあわせて、御正忌報恩講の意義をたどりながら、「いただくいのち」と「生かされる私」を見つめ直します。ゲストは、海の卸売を担う 大海水産株式会社（熊本市・くまもと田崎市場） で働く幼なじみ、豊増 琢真（とよます たくま）さんです。

浄土真宗の宗祖 親鸞聖人のご遺徳を偲び、阿弥陀如来の救いに遇う中心法要。起点は第3代宗主 覚如上人の『報恩講式』にさかのぼり、のちに第4代 存覚上人が整備。700年以上続く“報恩”の実践です。

新年最初の放送は、海の卸売を担う「大海水産株式会社」（熊本市・くまもと田崎市場）で働く幼なじみのゲスト、豊増琢真さんを迎え、「海と仏教」を語りました。
仏教には海をめぐる二つのイメージがあります。ひとつは尽きない迷いを示す煩悩の海。もうひとつは、限りなく広がる阿弥陀如来の大いなる慈悲をたたえる海。
相反するようでいて、実は同じ海の比喩であり、清濁を抱きとめる大きなはたらきの中に、迷いも救いも包まれていくと考えます。

🔶大晦日・晦日・つごもり
「晦日（みそか）」は本来、月の30日を指しましたが、のちに月の最後の日という意味になりました。
「大晦日」は年の最後の日、12月31日です。
「つごもり（晦）」は太陰太陽暦で月末に月が隠れることから生まれた語とされます。
🔶「師走（しわす）」の語源（諸説）
「僧が走るほど忙しい」という説が知られますが定説ではありません。
「年が果てる（年果つ）」が変化したという説、四季が極まるを語源とする説など、いずれも年の瀬の慌ただしさを映す説明です。
